SMO only partners with mining companies that comply with rigorous and independently audited international standards including but not limited to the WGC Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs), Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) and the International Council on Mining & Metals (ICMM).

Refiners must be approved by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) where bars must meet Good Delivery Standards, as a minimum.
